Penn henderson

Board Director/ Head Coach U12 Premier

Penn’s journey from the Rocky Mountains of Colorado to the lush landscapes of Hawaii is

marked by a lifetime of athletic and professional endeavors. Born into a life of sports, Penn

excelled in soccer, track & field, cycling, and Alpine ski racing as a member of the Junior

National Development Team – which ultimately led him to the University of Colorado where he

earned a degree in Business.

While in college, he found balance as a Professional Ski Instructor with Club Med in Colorado

and Switzerland, teaching students of all ages and abilities. His career transitioned into Sales & Marketing when he joined ski manufacturer Volant Sports as a Product & Marketing Manager.

Seeking new adventures, Penn relocated to Kona in 2001. He served as the Director of

Marketing for Mauna Lani Resort before taking on the role of Director of Sales & Marketing for Fair Wind Cruises in Keauhou, a position he held until 2021. Today, Penn continues his professional journey as a successful real estate agent with NextHome Paradise Realty, consistently recognized as one of the Top 20 NextHome agents nationwide.

Penn lives in Kailua-Kona with his wife and their two sons, who both play for the Kona Crush

Soccer Academy. The Hendersons have been deeply integrated into the local sports community

over the years, regularly competing in various running, cycling, swimming, and triathlon events. Penn himself is a three-time competitor in the Ironman World Triathlon Championships, a former overall Lavaman Triathlon Champion, and a former Hawaii State Cycling Champion.

Giving back to the community, the Hendersons have organized Kona’s annual Jingle Bell Beach

Run since 2005, the largest 5K run on the Big Island, which not only promotes community

engagement but also supports numerous local charities.

Nowadays, Penn volunteers much of his time and energy toward the development of the Kona

Crush Soccer Academy as a coach, parent, and newly elected board member. "It’s truly an honor to be part of the Kona Crush Ohana and to be entrusted with helping guide the program and players. It’s a special ‘full circle' opportunity for me to share my decade's worth of professional and athletic experiences with everyone involved,” says Penn.
